Catherine Gordon

Education Creations was established in 2009 by Catherine Gordon.  Education Creations is the perfect marriage of Catherine's passion for education and skill in creating practical, simple to use and effective resources, interpretative materials, lessons and activities.  Catherine began her career by teaching primary school in the Central Queensland mining town Blackwater.  Since then Catherine has taught in a variety of positions including classroom teacher, special education teacher and TAFE teacher.  Working in remote regions, with at times very little resources and a variety of clientele, taught Catherine to be flexible and creative in her teaching approach.  This stood her in good stead for her next position as a Museum Education Officer.

Being a relatively young museum, Catherine was able to design and implement all aspects of the education programme with great success.  In this role, she was also lucky enough to work on developing several temporary, touring and permanent exhibitions.  She worked on all stages from concept planning through to the development, design, installation and marketing of these exhibitions.

Catherine's interests extend across many fields including art, history and the environment.  In her spare time she is a keen painter and loves all things 'historical'.  She also has a great passion for the environment which she feeds by regenerating and maintaining the five acre block of land her family home resides on in the Greater Brisbane area.
